OCTOBER 2026

“GUARD THE UNITY”

Scripture:
“Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”  - Ephesians 4:3, KJV

One of the greatest witnesses the Church can give to a divided world is the testimony of believers who know how to walk together in love. Unity does not mean that we always agree. It means that our commitment to Christ and to one another is greater than the issues that might divide us. Healthy churches learn how to disagree without becoming disagreeable, correct without condemning, and work through differences without destroying fellowship.

Our District is made up of many congregations, pastors, leaders, traditions, and communities, but we share one Lord, one faith, and one mission. Satan understands that a divided church becomes a distracted church. Therefore, we must intentionally protect the fellowship God has given us. Let October be a month when we strengthen relationships, settle unnecessary differences, speak well of one another, and demonstrate that the love of Christ is stronger than personalities, preferences, and disagreements.

Two Action Steps for Every Church:

1. Promote reconciliation. Encourage members and ministry leaders to resolve lingering misunderstandings through prayer, honest conversation, forgiveness, and biblical love.

2. Strengthen fellowship beyond your walls. Connect with another congregation in the District through shared worship, ministry, encouragement, or partnership.

Closing Prayer:

Father, make us one in Christ. Remove pride, bitterness, jealousy, and division from among us. Teach us to speak with grace, forgive quickly, love sincerely, and work together faithfully. May our unity become a witness to the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

In His name we pray, Amen.
